Welcome to the Dekorfine family! If you are reading this, you’ve likely just received our gorgeous Flared Wooden Ceiling Light and are ready to elevate your space.
While a multi-arm chandelier might look intimidating right out of the box, assembling and installing it is actually a straightforward DIY project. To help you get your new light fixture up and shining as quickly as possible, we’ve put together this detailed, step-by-step visual guide.
Let’s get started!
⚠️ Safety First & Preparation
Before doing anything else, turn off the main power supply to your room at the circuit breaker. Never attempt to install a lighting fixture while the power is live.
What’s in the Box:
-
Main cylindrical base (metal and wood)
-
Wooden lighting arms with pre-threaded wires
-
White ribbed glass shades
-
Ceiling mounting bracket & hardware
-
Wire nuts/connectors
Tools You Will Need:
-
A wrench or socket tool
-
Wire strippers / pliers
-
A Phillips-head screwdriver
-
A pair of clean cotton gloves (Highly recommended! These protect your hands and keep the wood and glass smudge-free, just like our pros use in the photos).
-
A sturdy step ladder
Phase 1: Assembling the Fixture Body
-
Step 1: Start by unscrewing the clips and removing the protective cover from the central lighting fixture base.
-
Step 2: Take one of the wooden arms and carefully thread its wires through one of the side holes on the metal ring of the central base.
-
Step 3: Push the threaded end of the arm into the hole. Reaching inside the base, slip the washer and nut over the wires.
-
Step 4: Using your wrench, firmly tighten the nut on the inside to secure the arm. Repeat this process for all the remaining arms until they are all securely attached and form a starburst shape.
Phase 2: Internal Wiring & Sealing the Base
-
Step 5: Now look inside the central base. You will see a cluster of wires from all the arms you just attached. Separate them by color (e.g., group all the blue wires together, and all the brown wires together).
-
Step 6: Using your pliers, ensure the exposed copper ends are neat. Twist all wires of the same color tightly together.
-
Step 7: Secure each grouped bundle with a wire nut/cap, squeezing it firmly with your pliers to ensure a solid connection. You should now have one main connection for the live wire and one for the neutral wire.
-
Step 8: Carefully tuck all the connected wires down into the metal housing.
-
Step 9: Take the round wooden bottom cover and screw it onto the bottom of the fixture, hiding all the internal wiring and completing the look of the main body.
Phase 3: Ceiling Mounting & Final Connections
Pro Tip: This phase is much easier with a friend! Have one person hold the fixture while the other handles the ceiling wiring.
-
Step 10: Take the metal ceiling bracket and secure it tightly to your ceiling electrical box using your screwdriver and the provided screws.
-
Step 11: Lift the assembled light fixture toward the ceiling. Connect the main wires from the fixture to your home’s power supply wires. We recommend using quick-connect terminals (like the orange Wago connectors shown in our video) for a safe, fast, and secure connection. Connect Live to Live, Neutral to Neutral, and Ground to Ground.
-
Step 12: Once the wiring is secure, push the fixture's canopy flat against the ceiling, aligning it over the bracket.
-
Step 13: Insert the decorative side screws (the brass caps) through the canopy and into the bracket, tightening them by hand until the fixture is firmly anchored to the ceiling.
Phase 4: The Final Touches
-
Step 14: Screw in your light bulbs. (Be sure to check the maximum wattage recommended for your fixture!).
-
Step 15: Carefully attach the white flared glass shades to each socket.
-
Step 16: Turn the power back on at the breaker, flip the light switch, and enjoy your beautiful new space!
