Where does this sconce work best?
At L 10″ × W 12″ × H 8.5″ the Hawthorne is a farmhouse gooseneck sconce that suits kitchens, over a sink or range, beside a garage or barn door, along a porch or hallway, or above art and signage. The wide saucer shade throws a broad downward wash. Mount singly or in a row for even coverage.
How is the light directed?
The downward gooseneck arm and wide, shallow saucer give a broad downlight — light is cast down and out over the area below, ideal as task or accent lighting rather than a full-room ambient source.
What bulbs do you recommend?
It takes an E26/E27 bulb. Use an E26/E27 LED bulb at about 6–9W in warm white (2700 K) for a cozy period glow, or brighter for task areas like a sink or workbench. A vintage-look Edison LED suits the industrial styling. Bulbs are not included. E26 vs E27 guide →
Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?
It is rated for indoor use. It is fine in a bathroom away from direct water, but it is not a weatherproof outdoor fixture — for a porch, keep it under cover and clear of rain and spray. Wipe the metal with a soft, dry cloth to clean; avoid abrasive or acidic cleaners.
