The swag pendant emerged in mid-century American living rooms of the 1960s and 70s — its name comes from the way the cord visibly swags from a ceiling hook to a wall outlet, draping in a graceful curve. Originally a renter-friendly solution for adding pendant light without hardwiring or moving an outlet, the form became iconic for its casual elegance and "go anywhere" flexibility.
The Dippa revives that vocabulary in three earthy fabric tones — Beige, Sage Green, or Walnut — wrapped around a metal frame and finished with a turned wood cap at the crown. The 450 cm extendable cord gives you the same freedom the original swag offered: hang it from any hook, drape it any way, change rooms whenever you like. Pairs effortlessly with mid-century modern, Scandinavian, bohemian, eclectic, warm-organic, and Japandi interiors.

The Dippa ships with 450 cm — long enough for stairwell installations, double-height living rooms, swag-from-hook-to-outlet routing in rentals, and asymmetric placements where the cord becomes part of the design. What is a "swag" pendant, and why is the cord so long?
"Swag" is a mid-century American pendant style where the cord visibly drapes from a ceiling hook to a wall outlet — the curve in the cord is part of the look. The Dippa ships with 450 cm / 14.7 ft of cord precisely to support that style: enough length to swag from ceiling hook to outlet, run across to a different room, or drop a long line into a stairwell or double-height room.
If you want to plug the lamp directly above an outlet, just gather the excess cord — or contact support@dekorfine.com before ordering for a custom cord length.
What kind of bulb does it use, and is it dimmable?
Single E26 or E27 medium screw bulb (LED recommended; not included). E26 is the US/Canada standard, E27 is the EU/UK/Asia/Australia standard — physically interchangeable, just different naming conventions. Recommend warm-white at 2700K, 6-9W LED for an even, glare-free glow through the fabric shade.
The lamp is not dimmable — the inline push-button switch is on/off only. For adjustable brightness, use a smart plug with built-in dimming or a smart bulb with phone-app control.
Which color suits which interior style?
Beige: the safest neutral — disappears into cream walls, pairs with everything. Best for Scandi, Japandi, minimalist, and warm-modern rooms where the lamp should be quiet.
Sage Green: a confident accent — adds calming organic depth without being loud. Best against white, taupe, or terracotta walls. Pairs especially well with biophilic, bohemian, and warm-eclectic interiors.
Walnut: the richest of the three — deep warm-brown that echoes the wood cap and creates a tonal-monochrome harmony. Best for mid-century modern, traditional, and dark-academia rooms.
How is it installed?
The Dippa is a ceiling-mounted plug-in pendant. Install a ceiling hook (or two, for a swag arrangement) where you want the lamp to hang, drape the cord through the hook, and run the rest to your nearest outlet. The included inline push-button switch lets you turn it on and off without a wall switch.
For permanent hardwiring, contact a licensed electrician — the lamp is designed for plug-in use but the wiring can be modified.
