The Kane Swing Arm Wall Lamp.

Functional elegance for the bedside, reading nook, or home office. A double-jointed brass arm swings and folds in three planes, letting you direct light precisely where you need it. Anchored to a solid walnut wood backplate, finished off with a tapered brass dome shade that focuses warm light without glare. Available in two models — Model A for clean wall-switch installations, and Model B with an integrated toggle switch on the backplate.

The story

Three pivots, one room flooded with intention.

The Kane is engineered around a double-jointed brass arm with three independent pivot points — at the wall, mid-arm, and shade. Together they let the brass dome reach across a bedside or above a reading chair, fold flat against the wall when not in use, or angle precisely into a book or workspace.

The wall-mounting plate is solid walnut wood — a warm, organic counterpoint to the cool linear arm. The combination is intentionally classic: walnut + brass is a pairing that has anchored mid-century, transitional, and contemporary interiors for decades, and reads as both warm and considered in any setting.

Surface lines are part of the process.

The arm-joint connectors are manufactured using a die-casting process. Die-casting produces strong, structurally sound metal connectors — but the surface may show subtle parting lines or fine hairline texture marks where the molten brass cooled in the mold.

These marks are normal characteristics of die-cast manufacturing and are not defects. They do not affect the structure, safety, or normal use of the fixture. Click the image to view a close-up reference.

What's the difference between Model A and Model B?

Both models share the same dimensions (W 27.2″ × H 4.3″ / W 69 × H 11 cm) and the same materials (brass arm + walnut backplate). The only difference is the switching:

Model A: No integrated switch — power is controlled entirely by an external wall switch you wire to. Cleanest backplate appearance with no visible hardware beyond the mounting screws.
Model B: Adds a toggle switch directly on the backplate — flip up/down for on/off without reaching for the wall switch. Convenient for bedside placements where you want quick local control.

Both models still require an external wall switch in the wiring loop — the toggle on Model B is a secondary local control, not a replacement for hardwiring.

What size is the Kane?

The Kane measures W 27.2″ × H 4.3″ (W 69 × H 11 cm) at full extended reach. Because the arm has three pivots, the actual footprint depends on how you fold it — extended fully, the dome reaches about 27 inches from the wall; folded flat, it sits much closer to the backplate.

The walnut wall backplate is a low-profile rectangle that mounts flush against the wall.

What are the surface lines on the arm joints?

The arm-joint connectors are made via die-casting — a process where molten brass is injected into a steel mold under high pressure, then cooled and released. Die-casting is the standard manufacturing method for structural metal connectors because it produces strong, dimensionally precise parts.

A natural side effect is that the surface may show fine parting lines (where the two halves of the mold met) or subtle hairline texture marks (where the metal cooled in the mold cavity). These are normal characteristics of die-cast manufacturing, not defects, and they do not affect the structure, safety, or normal use of the lamp. They are not eligible for return as defects.

How is the Kane installed?

The Kane hardwires to a wall power source. The walnut backplate mounts to the wall via concealed screws, with electrical wires entering through the back. Both Model A and Model B require an external wall switch in the line — the toggle switch on Model B is a secondary local control, not a replacement for the wall switch.

An electrician is recommended unless you're confident with wall lighting installations. The fixture works on standard 110–240 V residential power.

Where does the Kane work best?

The Kane is purpose-built for positionable focused light. Best placements:

Bedside — fold over the bed for reading, then swing back to the wall when not in use.
Reading nook or armchair — angle the dome over a book without taking up floor space.
Home office or writing desk — extend across the desk for task light without footprint cost.
Hallway or entryway — directional accent light over artwork or console tables.

Pairs especially well with mid-century, transitional, modern farmhouse, and Scandi interiors. The walnut + brass combination flatters cream walls, leather furniture, woven textiles, and warm-neutral palettes.

What kind of bulb does it use, and is it dimmable?

Standard E26 / E27 screw-base bulb (LED or Edison; not included). E26 in North America, E27 in Europe and the UK. Because the dome is open at the bottom, vintage Edison-style filament bulbs look beautiful here — but warm-white LED Edison bulbs (2700K) are more efficient and equally flattering.

The fixture works with a common wall switch; for dimming, pair with dimmable LED bulbs and a compatible LED-rated wall dimmer. Confirm dimmer-bulb compatibility before ordering.

What is the return and exchange policy?

Dekorfine offers a 30-day return policy on undamaged items in their original packaging. Die-cast surface texture lines on the arm joints are normal manufacturing characteristics and are not eligible for return as defects. Decorative items shown in lifestyle photos are not included.

This policy applies to all lighting fixtures sold on dekorfine.com worldwide. You have 30 calendar days from receiving your item to request a return — the terms below keep every case fair for both sides.

The 30-Day
Window

Thirty days, simply stated.

You have 30 calendar days from the delivery date — verified by carrier tracking — to request a return or exchange. Items must be unused, with original tags and packaging, and accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase.

Who pays return shipping

Quality or transport issue — we cover free return and exchange, including shipping.
Personal preference — if the fixture simply isn't right for you, return shipping is your responsibility. Rates vary by carrier.

Common consumer reasons: the product didn't meet expectations, sizing concerns, color preferences, change of mind, wrong item or quantity ordered, or overlooked product specifications.

Please inspect your order on arrival. If anything is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact support@dekorfine.com immediately so we can make it right.

Product damaged due to quality defects or transit.
Unused items returned within the 30-day window.
Any item returned to sender undelivered.
Any item not delivered within 90 days.

Not eligible for return or exchange

Items returned outside the 30-day window.
Orders or items valued at $5,000 or more.
Bespoke, custom, or special-order products made to your specifications.
Light bulbs.
Products not in original condition or packaging.
Bulk orders — three or more of the same product. For large orders we recommend purchasing a single item first to confirm fit.

For items not eligible for refund, customers are responsible for return shipping. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Cancellation
& EU Terms

Canceling an order.

Cancellations are possible within 3 days of order confirmation. Once this window closes, if the order hasn't shipped yet, contact us — we may still be able to help. Once the package is in transit, orders cannot be canceled.

If you insist on canceling after shipment, a 30%–50% fee (warehousing, order processing, and shipping costs) will be deducted from your refund. Please review your order carefully before confirming.

European Union — 14-day cooling-off

Orders shipped to the EU may be canceled or returned within 14 days for any reason, without justification. The item must still be unused, with original tags and packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.

We confirm the refund amount based on your reason and the items in your order.
We provide the return address and shipment labeling instructions. Refunds require these instructions to be followed.
You ship at your own cost. We do not cover return shipping or supply prepaid labels. Please include your order confirmation email inside the package.
Notify us by email once shipped, and share the tracking number if available.
We process your return within 3–5 business days of receipt.

Exchanges

The fastest way to get the item you want is to return the original, and once the return is accepted, place a separate order for the replacement.

Refund
Timing

Refunds, honestly timed.

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll notify you whether the refund is approved. If approved, funds return automatically to your original payment method within 10 business days.

Bear in mind that your bank or card issuer may need additional time to process and post the refund on their end.
