Design Process
- Inspiration:
The designer aimed to capture the "most beautiful moment" of the dandelion – the moment before the seeds disperse, when the flower head is still intact. This moment is combined with the radial structure of a bursting firework, ultimately resulting in a clear visual language: a central point + radiating branches + crystal-clear tips.
- Sketching Phase:
The early sketches primarily focused on two aspects: the density of the light and the fullness of the spheres. The length of the branches was repeatedly modified to ensure the artwork resembled the form of a flower without appearing chaotic or disorganized.
- 3D Modeling:
The radial structure of the sketch was transformed into an assembleable metal frame. Each crystal is properly supported at its ends, and the bulb layout is carefully designed to allow the crystals to illuminate from within (this series uses G9 lamp holders).
- Prototype Lighting Test:
The team evaluated two key characteristics: the "sparkle" of the crystals and the overall softness of the light. The final choice was a gold frame paired with clear crystals, creating an iconic effect: a warm, firefly-like glow surrounding a pure, transparent shimmer.
