The Mendrisio Alabaster Wall Sconce effortlessly combines organic modern simplicity with the refined elegance of quiet luxury. Featuring slender, vertical cylinders of natural translucent alabaster framed by rich, warm brass accents, this linear wall sconce diffuses a soft, warm ambient glow that highlights the unique, cloud-like veining inherent to natural stone.

Which size should I choose?
All three share the same slim 4.7″ × 5.5″ profile in different heights. Beside a mirror, choose a height close to the mirror’s own: the H 23.6″ for powder rooms and standard vanity mirrors, the H 35.4″ for tall mirrors and hallways. The H 47.2″ is a dramatic vertical statement for entryways, stairwells and double-height walls.
How high should I mount it?
Mount the center of the sconce at roughly eye level, about 150–165 cm / 59–65″ from the floor; on a stairwell or double-height wall, the tallest size can sit higher to suit the scale of the space. Flanking a vanity mirror, place a sconce on each side about 36–40″ apart. It is hardwired to a standard wall junction box and controlled by an external wall switch (not included). We recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
Do I need to buy bulbs?
No – the Mendrisio uses an integrated LED light source built into the fixture, so there are no bulbs to buy or replace. The light glows evenly along the alabaster, bringing out its cloud-like veining from top to bottom.
How do I care for the alabaster?
Alabaster is a soft, porous natural stone – clean it with a soft, dry cloth only and never use water, sprays or cleaning products, which can mark or dull the surface. Wipe the brass accents with a soft, dry cloth as well. Switch off at the wall and let the fixture cool first. Natural veining and tonal variations are part of the stone’s character, not a defect.

Alabaster is a mineral first worked by the Egyptians and Greeks — prized then, as now, for its translucency and quiet grain. Each of our fixtures begins as a block of raw stone and ends in a fixture that glows as if lit from inside the earth itself.
A material that changes a room.
Synthetic shades mimic the look. Alabaster is the look. Semi-translucent, naturally warm, and quietly alive — it softens the light passing through it and fills a space with the kind of glow that makes people slow down.
To work with alabaster is to follow the stone — not force it. Each block tells the carver where the light wants to go.
Four steps from
quarry to fixture.
Every alabaster piece passes through the same four hands — cutting, shaping, drilling, finishing. What arrives at your door carries the trace of all of them.
Cutting
Raw blocks are scored and cut on precision stone saws — every dimension traced from the original design, every grain of the stone respected.
Shaping
Complex curves are turned on lathes and carved by hand. Each fixture's silhouette is coaxed from the stone rather than imposed on it.
Drilling
Concealed channels are drilled for wiring and concealed hardware — invisible in the finished piece, but critical to the clean line.
Finishing
Polished to a soft lustre or honed to matte — whichever brings the stone's veining forward without overpowering it.
