Which size should I choose?
Both sizes are compact fixtures for smaller spaces. The ∅ 11.8″ × H 7.9″ has a wider, lower cone that spreads light further – ideal for hallways, entryways, laundry rooms and bedrooms with low ceilings. The ∅ 9.8″ × H 9.8″ is narrower and slightly taller, a neat fit for closets, powder rooms and tight corridors. Use several spaced along a long hallway for even light.
Will it work with my ceiling height?
Yes – it is designed for standard and low ceilings. On an 8 ft ceiling the ∅ 11.8″ leaves about 7 ft 4 in (224 cm) of clearance and the ∅ 9.8″ about 7 ft 2 in (219 cm), both above the recommended 7 ft minimum for walkways. It is hardwired to a standard ceiling junction box and controlled by a common wall switch (not included). We recommend installation by a licensed electrician.
What bulbs do you recommend?
This fixture takes E26 or E27 bulbs. Use an A19/A60 LED bulb at about 6–9W in warm white (2700 K) – warm light brings out the soft, pearly glow of the capiz shell. Bulbs are not included. E26 vs E27 guide →
How do I care for the capiz shell?
Capiz shell is thin and delicate – dust it gently with a soft, dry brush or cloth only, and never use water, sprays or cleaning products. Avoid pressing on individual tiles. Wipe the wood and brass parts with a soft, dry cloth as well. Switch off at the wall and let the bulb cool first.
