Each lamp is made from FSC-certified solid ash or walnut, kiln-dried before milling. Because we use real wood rather than veneer, the grain, knot pattern, and exact tone vary from piece to piece. Two lamps of the same model will look like siblings, not identical twins — that variation is part of the design.

Yes — every Spirit Bird is hand-shaped and oil-finished in our studio. Each model has a defined set of bird postures (perched, head-turned, wings tucked), but the specific bird that ships with your lamp is selected at packing and not configurable. The intention is that the bird finds you, rather than the other way around.

We recommend a warm-white LED at 2700K, 4–7W, with a non-frosted filament-style bulb for the best effect through the hand-blown shade. All Perch & Glow fittings are dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb — wood and warm light are at their best at around 40–60% output.

Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Every 6–12 months, apply a thin coat of plant-based furniture oil (we include a small bottle with each lamp) to keep the wood from drying out. Avoid silicone polishes. The brass is lacquer-free and will develop a soft patina over time; if you prefer the original brightness, a light buff with a microfibre cloth restores it.

All ceiling-mounted pieces ship with adjustable cord or rod lengths suited to ceilings between 2.4m and 3.5m. For sloped, vaulted, or higher ceilings, contact our team before ordering — we can supply extended cords or a sloped-ceiling adapter at no extra cost.

Each lamp ships in a custom-cut foam interior inside a double-walled carton. The Spirit Bird travels separately in its own padded sleeve and is fitted on arrival via a magnetic perch — no tools required. Shipping is fully insured; in the rare case of damage in transit, we replace the affected component at no cost.
