The high-gloss chrome-plated frame of the Seashells Pendant Light has metal rings of different sizes, increasing from top to bottom. Shell disc chains of different lengths are hung on these rings. The translucent surface of the shell disc acts as a light filter and reflection. The fixture has a sense of movement and life.

Shell is one of the few lighting materials with its own inherent mood. It sways, catching the breeze from an open door, clicking softly against itself, and filtering light the way a tide pool filters sunlight. These fixtures keep changing long after you've stopped watching them.
The Making Process
From Shore
to Ceiling.
Every shell in our collection passes through the same four stages—gathered from the intertidal zone, cleaned, shaped, and hand-strung. What arrives at your door carries the mark of all of them.

Stage Two
Cleaned & Sorted
Every shell is rinsed, polished, and graded by hand. Only those with the right translucence and even coloring move on to the next stage.

Stage Three
Cut & Shaped
Shells are scored, trimmed, and drilled to spec—then refined into discs, petals, or slivers, each catching the light a little differently.

Stage Four
Threaded & Assembled
Every shell is threaded by hand—patiently, one at a time—onto stainless steel or brass, until the fixture is ready to leave the studio.

Natural shell is one of the most delicate materials in lighting—and one of the most rewarding. A few simple habits will keep every fixture at its best, year after year.

Handle with Care
Shell components are inherently fragile. Unpack slowly, inspect before installing, and ask your electrician to work patiently—never rushing on the delicate wiring.

Dust, Never Rinse
Never rinse a shell fixture with water. Moisture can rust the metal fittings and dull the shell's natural sheen. A gentle wipe is all it needs.

Mind the Placement
For fixtures with loosely hung shell strands, keep them away from strong drafts or ceiling fans—this keeps the shells from swinging too much and preserves their silhouette.

Clean Twice a Year
A gentle dusting every six months keeps the shell bright and the nacre glowing. Avoid household cleaners—they can strip the shell's natural coating.
