Fun is made of natural mother of pearl shells that are held to the highest quality brass and hung on stainless steel rings. The fixture has a sense of movement and life. When there is a light breeze, or you open your door, a beautiful sound is created from the shells knocking gently against each other.

This policy applies to all lighting fixtures sold on dekorfine.com worldwide. You have 30 calendar days from receiving your item to request a return — the terms below keep every case fair for both sides.

The 30-Day
Window

Thirty days, simply stated.

You have 30 calendar days from the delivery date — verified by carrier tracking — to request a return or exchange. Items must be unused, with original tags and packaging, and accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase.

Who pays return shipping

Quality or transport issue — we cover free return and exchange, including shipping.
Personal preference — if the fixture simply isn't right for you, return shipping is your responsibility. Rates vary by carrier.

Common consumer reasons: the product didn't meet expectations, sizing concerns, color preferences, change of mind, wrong item or quantity ordered, or overlooked product specifications.

Please inspect your order on arrival. If anything is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact support@dekorfine.com immediately so we can make it right.

Refund
Eligibility

What qualifies for a full refund.

Eligible — we cover 100% of costs

Product damaged due to quality defects or transit.
Unused items returned within the 30-day window.
Any item returned to sender undelivered.
Any item not delivered within 90 days.

Not eligible for return or exchange

Items returned outside the 30-day window.
Orders or items valued at $5,000 or more.
Bespoke, custom, or special-order products made to your specifications.
Light bulbs.
Products not in original condition or packaging.
Bulk orders — three or more of the same product. For large orders we recommend purchasing a single item first to confirm fit.

For items not eligible for refund, customers are responsible for return shipping. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Cancellation
& EU Terms

Canceling an order.

Cancellations are possible within 3 days of order confirmation. Once this window closes, if the order hasn't shipped yet, contact us — we may still be able to help. Once the package is in transit, orders cannot be canceled.

If you insist on canceling after shipment, a 30%–50% fee (warehousing, order processing, and shipping costs) will be deducted from your refund. Please review your order carefully before confirming.

European Union — 14-day cooling-off

Orders shipped to the EU may be canceled or returned within 14 days for any reason, without justification. The item must still be unused, with original tags and packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.

How to return an item.

Seven steps, in order. Please follow each carefully — deviations may delay or affect your refund.

Review this policy to confirm your order qualifies for a return or refund.
Submit an inquiry to support@dekorfine.com including your reason for return.
We confirm the refund amount based on your reason and the items in your order.
We provide the return address and shipment labeling instructions. Refunds require these instructions to be followed.
You ship at your own cost. We do not cover return shipping or supply prepaid labels. Please include your order confirmation email inside the package.
Notify us by email once shipped, and share the tracking number if available.
We process your return within 3–5 business days of receipt.

Exchanges

The fastest way to get the item you want is to return the original, and once the return is accepted, place a separate order for the replacement.

Refund
Timing

Refunds, honestly timed.

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll notify you whether the refund is approved. If approved, funds return automatically to your original payment method within 10 business days.

Bear in mind that your bank or card issuer may need additional time to process and post the refund on their end.

If more than 15 business days have passed since your return was approved and the refund hasn't arrived, please write to support@dekorfine.com and we'll look into it.

Shell is one of the only materials in lighting that has its own atmosphere. It sways, catches the draft from an open door, chimes softly against itself, and filters light the way tide pools filter sunlight. These are fixtures that keep changing long after you've stopped looking at them.

The Making

From shore

Every shell in our collection travels the same four stages — gathered from the tide line, washed, shaped, and strung by hand. What arrives at your door carries the trace of all of them.

Stage one

Harvested by hand

Shells are gathered along the coast by local collectors — selected individually for size, uniformity, and the unmistakable iridescence only nature provides.

Stage two

Washed & sorted

Each shell is rinsed, polished, and graded by hand. Only those with perfect translucency and even colour make it to the next stage of the process.

Stage three

Cut & shaped

Shells are scored, trimmed, and drilled to specification — then refined into discs, petals, or slivers, each ready to catch light differently.

Stage four

Strung & assembled

Each shell is threaded onto stainless steel or brass by hand — patiently, one at a time — until the fixture is ready to leave the atelier.

Natural shell is one of the most delicate materials in lighting — and also one of the most rewarding. A few simple habits keep every fixture looking its best, year after year.

Handle with care

Shell pieces are naturally fragile. Unbox slowly, inspect before installing, and ask your electrician to work patiently — no rushed movements on delicate strands.

Dust, don't wash

Never rinse a shell fixture with water. Moisture rusts the metal connectors and dulls the shell's natural luster. A soft, dry pass is all that's needed.

Mind the placement

For fixtures with loose-hung strands, install away from strong drafts or ceiling fans — it keeps the shells from shifting too freely and preserves the silhouette.

Clean twice a year

A gentle dusting every six months is enough to keep the shells bright and the nacre shimmering. Skip household cleaners — they can strip the natural finish.
