A pocket-sized industrial spotlight in the spirit of 1970s-80s Italian postmodern design — a boxy enameled metal body, a magnetic-attach spotlight head you can swing or remove with one hand, a chunky cylindrical handle, and a small toggle switch perched on top like an analogue control panel.

Compact enough for a workbench shelf or bedside, characterful enough to read as a sculptural object even when off.

The story

Italian postmodern, made playful.

The Minibox draws its language from 1970s-80s Italian industrial design — that period when designers like the Castiglioni brothers and the Memphis Group reset the rules of the everyday object, treating consumer products as sculptural opportunities rather than purely functional tools. The result was a vocabulary of boxy enameled bodies, oversized control switches, and primary-color palettes — designs that read equally as machines and as toys.

Here that vocabulary is reset as a desk lamp. The magnetic-attach spotlight head swings, tilts, or detaches entirely with one hand for precise task aiming. The cylindrical side handle doubles as carrying grip and visual counterweight. The toggle switch on top sits where a control toggle would on a 1970s scientific instrument, fully exposed and tactile. Pairs effortlessly with mid-century modern, modern industrial, postmodern, retro futurism, modern eclectic, and warm-eclectic interiors.

What is an MR16 bulb, and where can I buy one?

MR16 stands for "Multifaceted Reflector, 50mm" (16 × 1/8 inch). It's a small spotlight bulb shape with a two-pin GU5.3 base, originally designed for halogen track lighting and now widely available as LED MR16.

Search for "MR16 LED bulb" or "GU5.3 LED spotlight" at any major hardware retailer (Home Depot, Lowe's, Amazon). Choose warm color temperature (2700K-3000K) for the most authentic vintage spotlight look. Wattage typically 4-7W (35-50W halogen equivalent).

Important: the Minibox runs on AC 110-240V — confirm the bulb is rated for line voltage (not 12V low-voltage MR16 used in landscape lighting). Most modern LED MR16 bulbs are dual-voltage.

How does the magnetic head work?

The spotlight head connects to the body via a strong magnet rather than a fixed hinge — meaning you can swing it left-right, tilt it up-down, or detach it entirely with one hand for precise aiming.

Practical uses: aim it at a workbench task, point it at a bookshelf as accent, lift it off to use as a hand-held flashlight effect (cord still attached), or rotate it 180° to bounce light off the wall behind for ambient softening. The magnet holds firmly during normal use; lift gently to detach.

Where does the Minibox work best?

At L 19.5 × W 10 × H 19 cm, the Minibox is a compact accent + task lamp hybrid — best in spots where its sculptural industrial silhouette can be seen up close:

Is it dimmable?

The lamp itself is not dimmable — the push-button switch is on/off only. For dimming, pair with a dimmable MR16 LED bulb and a compatible MR16 dimmer in the wall outlet circuit (note: MR16 dimming compatibility varies more than E26/E27 — confirm bulb and dimmer are explicitly compatible before purchase).

For most users, simple on/off operation suits the lamp's character — the colorway and form do most of the atmosphere work.

This policy applies to all lighting fixtures sold on dekorfine.com worldwide. You have 30 calendar days from receiving your item to request a return — the terms below keep every case fair for both sides.

Thirty days, simply stated.

You have 30 calendar days from the delivery date — verified by carrier tracking — to request a return or exchange. Items must be unused, with original tags and packaging, and accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase.

Who pays return shipping

Quality or transport issue — we cover free return and exchange, including shipping.
Personal preference — if the fixture simply isn't right for you, return shipping is your responsibility. Rates vary by carrier.

Common consumer reasons: the product didn't meet expectations, sizing concerns, color preferences, change of mind, wrong item or quantity ordered, or overlooked product specifications.

Please inspect your order on arrival. If anything is defective, damaged, or incorrect, contact support@dekorfine.com immediately so we can make it right.

Product damaged due to quality defects or transit.
Unused items returned within the 30-day window.
Any item returned to sender undelivered.
Any item not delivered within 90 days.

Not eligible for return or exchange

Items returned outside the 30-day window.
Orders or items valued at $5,000 or more.
Bespoke, custom, or special-order products made to your specifications.
Light bulbs.
Products not in original condition or packaging.
Bulk orders — three or more of the same product. For large orders we recommend purchasing a single item first to confirm fit.

For items not eligible for refund, customers are responsible for return shipping. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Cancellation
& EU Terms

Canceling an order.

Cancellations are possible within 3 days of order confirmation. Once this window closes, if the order hasn't shipped yet, contact us — we may still be able to help. Once the package is in transit, orders cannot be canceled.

If you insist on canceling after shipment, a 30%–50% fee (warehousing, order processing, and shipping costs) will be deducted from your refund. Please review your order carefully before confirming.

European Union — 14-day cooling-off

Orders shipped to the EU may be canceled or returned within 14 days for any reason, without justification. The item must still be unused, with original tags and packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase.

We confirm the refund amount based on your reason and the items in your order.
We provide the return address and shipment labeling instructions. Refunds require these instructions to be followed.
You ship at your own cost. We do not cover return shipping or supply prepaid labels. Please include your order confirmation email inside the package.
Notify us by email once shipped, and share the tracking number if available.
We process your return within 3–5 business days of receipt.

Exchanges

The fastest way to get the item you want is to return the original, and once the return is accepted, place a separate order for the replacement.

Refund
Timing

Refunds, honestly timed.

Once we've received and inspected your return, we'll notify you whether the refund is approved. If approved, funds return automatically to your original payment method within 10 business days.

Bear in mind that your bank or card issuer may need additional time to process and post the refund on their end.
